Ethnic Floral is a design collection that derives from artist Isha’s ethnicity. Being born and raised in a textile family in India, the artist had the exposure of seeing much ethnic artistry and also had an innate liking towards cultural art and design. In her homeland, the artist has spent much of her time traveling within the country to see artisans from different regions. For creating the artwork and designing the Ethnic Floral gift set collection the artist borrows elements from the Floral hand block printing, miniature painting and mural painting of North India and the floral Kalamkari from south India.

Watercolor is a medium where a brushstroke once placed can never be replaced, hence this form of art requires a good amount of practice, skill and attention in the creation process. Watercolor artworks have a light tonal value and softer colour palettes due to the fact that it is a translucent medium that generates just a tinge of pigment on paper and hence it is important for contemporary artists to have a skillful control over the brushwork while working with the watercolor medium.

Artist Isha’s design inspo for her collection Floral Islamic pattern comes from the Islamic geometric art. Artist Isha did course learning the Islamic pattern design. As an abstract artist, she is always fascinated by art forms that are nonfigurative and have strong elements of abstraction. Islamic pattern design is a highly mathematical form of art that requires a strong skill and understanding of geometric shapes, forms, and uniformity in composition.
In that course, she also learned some biomorphic style of motif drawing which was a combination of geometry with freehand drawing. Learning this she created a geometric uniform pattern design and later layered a floral freehand painting in decorative style in it. Here’s how she created the floral Islamic pattern design line, where uniformity in composition interweaves with floral organic forms .
Modern “Toile de Jouy” artist Isha uses the popular french style print design as her design inspo to create this line. Artist Isha is an abstract artist, however, she is always had a fascination with art forms that are skillfully done with intricacy. Toile De Jouy is an intricate form of pattern design. Artist Isha, had often noticed this pattern design in her home textile and was always fascinated by it, however, she was predominantly inspired by the pioneer designer Christian Dior, who has also created a designer bag collection using the Toile De Jouy pattern
The Artist was inspired by how Dior created his own version of the Toile De Jouy. Similarly Isha wanted to recreate her own version of toile de jouy infusing her unique contemporary abstract art skills. This was her modern and contemporary version of the iconic French pattern design created by artist Isha as an Ink Art to create a similar monochromatic style of drawing and print design.
